LAP Band Surgery
The LAP Band is a type of weight loss surgery that alters the actual size of your stomach. It is dangerous and being targeted to women. The surgery is portrayed as being simple and having few risks, but this is not the case.
We are aware of at least three recent death cases that have been filed. In Neelu Pal v. New York University, a doctor here in New York gave the facts regarding the dangers of the procedure. It was shown that the level of expertise, preparation, and care has been substandard. Women who do not fit the criteria are still receiving the surgery.

If you believe that you have suffered from the problems and effects associated with the following drugs, please contact our office. Our consultations are free and we look forward to helping you. DES (Diethylstilbestrol) DES is a synthetic form of estrogen that was prescribed between 1938 and 1971 to help women with certain complications of pregnancy. DES has been linked to clear cell adenocarcinoma, an uncommon cancer of the vagina or cervix, in daughters of women who used DES during pregnancy. Hormone Replacement Therapies Conjugated estrogens and hormone replacement therapy drugs such as Premarin, Prempro, and/or Premphase, have been linked to the following serious side effects: Ovarian Cancer, Lupus, Scleroderma, Gallbladder Cancer and Stroke. Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is typically used to treat the symptoms of menopause. The drug Premarin is typically prescribed for women without a uterus. NuvaRing NuvaRing is a contraceptive vaginal ring that releases 15 micrograms of ethinyl estradiol and 120 micrograms of etonogestrel per day. NuvaRing use is associated with serious side effects resulting from blood clots, such as pulmonary embolism (PE) and deep vein thrombosis (DVT) as well as strokes and heart attacks, with some events resulting in death. Ortho Evra As of November 2005, the FDA had received twenty-one reports of life-threatening blood clots and other ailments associated with the use of Ortho Evra. FDA records obtained by the Associated Press showed that seventeen patch users between the ages of 17 and 30 suffered fatal heart attacks, blood clots and possible strokes since August 2002. Parlodel Parlodel is the brand name for bromocriptine miccylate, a drug used to inhibit lactation in women who choose not to nurse. The drug is associated with cardiovascular problems, including heart attacks, strokes, hypertension, and seizures. Birth Control Some oral contraceptive drugs have been linked to serious, life-threatening injuries including blood clots, strokes, heart attacks and death. We have helped many women just like you who have had their life impacted by the damaging side effects of oral contraceptives. YAZ Yaz is a combination birth control pill that contains estrogen and progestin. Yaz received FDA approval as an oral contraceptive in March 2006. Evidence is growing that Yaz carries serious health risks. Yaz contains a synthetic type of progestin called drospirenone. According to the FDA, drospirenone can lead to hyperkalemia, a condition caused by excessive amounts of potassium in the blood, in high risk patients. This condition may result in potentially serious heart and health problems. Some of the other side effects include stroke, heart attack and even death. |
